Las Fallas is one of the most unique festivals in Spain, celebrating St Josephs Day 19th March, celebrating the final days and the arrival of Spring with spectacular fires and pyrotechnics. Displayed on every corner all over the town of Denia are colourful “Ninots”, giant papier-mache figures often over 30ft tall! Especially beautiful is the offering of the flowers to the Virgin Mary, where hundreds of “Falleras and Falleros”arrive wearing traditional costumes, dancing to their neighbourhood bands as they wend their way to the Plaza de la Virgin to offer bouquets to the giant image of the Virgin.
Our Walking Holiday this week is at a Moderate level, but on your free day
(19th March) we take you to the Procession at Denia – free of charge!
