This week we have a smaller group of 4 – they are great company and they love our dogs Charlie and Ellie. We start the week with a walk on El Somo – the weather is pretty good even though the forecast was a bit grim! More wild flowers are starting to appear including beautiful violets.
The second day we head off to the Caballo Verde, but the weather is not good and it’s raining pretty heavily. We catch a coffee at the base of the mountain and have a quick team talk – we suggest a bracing coastal walk, followed by lunch at a beach fish restaurant – the idea is given the thumbs up, so it’s off to Calpe where the weather is kinder – fabulous cloud formations make for an atmospheric walk and in the end not a drop of rain!
The following day our guests go fro a day trip to Valencia where the sun is shining and they have a great day seeing the sights. The next walk we re-visit the Caballo Verde – the weather starts off pretty well but the cloud comes in from the sea bringing with it some rain but our stalwart guests are not put off – they even still can raise a smile when they are eating their soggy sandwiches!
Day 6 we wake up to sunshine and we are off to the spectacular Bernia range
Our final day takes us to “Smuggler’s Cove” near Moraira where we rock-hop down a barranco to the sea – then it’s up onto the undercliff for some breathtaking views. After the walk we transfer to Moraira to stroll along the beach, catch a coffee and for one brave party member (Louisa) even catch a dip in the Med!
