We had a great week with our 9 guests last week – they were a great group of people and got on famously.
We set off on day one on the El Somo Ciruit – the weather is great
After following a broad track we start to gain ascent on a single rocky track
It’s hot so there are plenty of water breaks and photo opportunities
Chris has taken a shine to Ellie and is happy to share his hat!
We enjoy lunch then it’s into the next valley
The views are fantastic – and what a good looking bunch they are too!
On the way back we come across a praying mantis.
After 14 k everyone is pretty tired so it’s back to Parcent for a refreshing beer
Day 2 is the Caballo Verde always a favourite
We soon gain ascent and our photogenic bunch are happy to pose
We reach the ridge and the views are amazing – we can clearly see Ibiza whic is over 120k away
We follow the line of the ridge
Picking our way along the rocky trail
It’s still pretty warm so we take plenty of water stops to re-hydrate
We follow the ridge
Some of our intrepid travellers scramble to the cross – the site of the last battle between the Moors & Christians in 1609 and are rewarded with some amazing views
After lunch we meander down the old mozarabic trail
Which wends its way back to the village
Then it’s straight to the bar for a beer (unless you’re driving!)
Gives Ellie a chance to have a snooze – it was a great walk.
Day 3 sees us walk straight from Carrascal
