Walk Leaders

  - The owners of Casa Carrascal and main walk leaders have 7years experience in mountain walking at all levels, they will guide you through the area, showing  you the most spectacular scenery, abundant flora and fauna and offer an insight into the history and culture of this fascinating region.

They are very caring leaders and ensure all of the group are comfortable and the walk is set at a suitable pace.  They allow plenty of time for "photo stops"
and flower and bird spotting - they work on the policy that walking is about enjoying the scenery and the beauty of the area and it is certainly not a race!

Many walkers have commented that they are often apprehensive when booking a holiday that they are going to be left behind and tell tales of struggling to keep up with a group who are travelling quickly - and when they do catch up because the main group are having a break - they set off again! This does not happen on a Carrascal walk.

Both Sue and David are first aid trained and can offer coaching on techniques of mountain walking.

  Dr Geoff HallDr GEOFF.jpg

With over 10 years experience of leading walks in the mountains of The Marina Alta, Geoff has an unrivalled wealth of experience. A former G.P. based in Yorkshire, he retired to Spain back in 2000.  His knowledge of the ranges, their tracks, the wildlife and flora and the history and culture of the area are first rate -  and his ability to impart this information with more than a smattering of northern wit, really brings the subjects to life!

His experience as a doctor also means he is fully equipped in  case of an emergency.

Geoff is also a very keen and proficient photographer.

Charlie

Certainly the fittest of the team - thinks nothing of covering 70-80km per day. He knows the mountains like the back of his paw and is a real path finder.

He loves being out with us in the mountains, but he also appreciates that not everyone loves dogs, so is quite happy to have the odd day off if you would prefer walking without a canine companion.
