Sue and I had a 3 day break at the Ifach Hotel in Calpe. The weather was great so we were able to relax and soak up the sun and also recce a fantastic walk along the cosastal path that we will be including on our summer itinerary.
The walk starts from a small cove on the Moraira side of Calpe.
And follows an impressively constructed rustic walkway.
We pass many fantastic bays and coves
Before reaching Les Bassetts
The Timon Restaurant is perfectly placed for a “pit stop”
It is situated on a tiny marina where they also have a sailing school and dive centre.
Suitably refreshed, we contiue along the immaculate pathway
Which meanders along the magnificent coastline
We admire some wonderful properties en-route
Before reaching Fustera Beach – an ideal place for lunch
Then it’s back along the walkway
Taking in distant views of Calpe Rock
Then back to our start point
The crystal clear bay. We then cut inland a couple of hundred metres
To the salt lakes. The home of many varieties of birds.
Including its resident flamingos
And even the odd Mallard
It’s a really peaceful place to watch the birds fly by
Or watch them fish
I don’t think this large Sea Bass (one of many cruising the shallows) was on their menu!
It’s been a great few days and we feel the inclusion of this walk on our Summer Itinerary will prove popular with our Walking Guests.
