Starting from Km 7 between Castells and Bolulla we walked about 10km around the El Somo Circuit – the weather was again fantastic even though it was a little misty.
The blossom is not as far advanced as in the Jalon Valley which will allow our guests later in the month, a chance to see and enjoy it.
After about 2km on broad tracks we start a gentle ascent up a single track
A bit of rock-hopping.
Then we stop to admire a rock formation and arch which we know as “Man on Motorbike meets Rabbit” – can you see them?
We don’t meet too many folk on our walks, but at our banana stop we bump into a group of chaps – some of them had lunched and walked with us on our Sunday Almond Blossom Stroll.
Onward into the valley down towards Bolulla – wonderful views made even more atmospheric in the mist.
Then the highlight of the day – whilst munching our sandwiches at our lunch stop, we were treated to a wonderful aerial display – a Short Toed Eagle hovering overhead!
After lunch we continue on along Paseo de Tancat
Then we follow the last quarter of the circuit
It’s still warm, so Charlie enjoys a drink from his posh water bowl – a Christmas pressie sent over from the UK by Lynne, one of our former guests.
With the Aixorta looking down on us – it’s back to the start point.
As always – a lovely walk
