For the first time in a very long time the weather was, for the most part, not kind to us this week.
We had a small group of 4, Sue and John and Rita and David who stayed with us this week.
Hopeful of good weather they were somewhat disappointed that it chose this week to rain.
Rugged up in our wet weather gear we set off on the Somo
In fact it did not rain but the views were a little limited, although still quite atmospheric.
During the week we managed to walk every day and in fact were only affected by rain once and even then only light drizzle for a couple of hours.
During the week we managed to view a good number of wild flowers including some new sightings.
The opportunity to see our raptor population was also limited due to the misty conditions, but we did see a huge flock of Choughs on the 2000 Steps walk – this one flew pretty close.
The sun did come out on Sunday for our “Smugglers Cove” walk. Our friends Carol and Syd joined us for the day.
We followed the barranco down to the sea.
Rock-hopping along the way
Arriving at the beautiful bay for a drink break
Then it’s a sharp climb up to the undercliffs
A quick break to catch our breath!
With a little time to admire the views over the bay.
Then it’s on along the coastal path catching the outline of Ibiza on the way.
Not our best weeks weather, but we do walk most days and over the past 15 months only 2 of our walks have been affected by rain so that can’t be bad!
