We have a full house for Christmas with 10 walking guests staying with us for the week and another 8 joining us for our 8 course Chrismas Lunch.
Moira and Derek had returned to see us – last year they came for our New Year’s walking week – it was great to see them again. They soon got to know this years group, a really nice bunch of folk: Barry and Pam, John and Rachel, Helen and Tony, Margaret and Marilyn.
The grouip arrived to some glorious weather
Keen to get walking, the group set off after breakfast on Christmas Day climbing the trail to Coll de Rates with great views of Parcent
Sue proudly sporting her “Tilly” hat, a Christmas present from the kids
After the walk the group enjoy their 8 course lunch – think a long walk will be required tomorrow to burn off a few calories!
We decide to walk the Caballo Verde Ridge with the 2000 steps extension – a great walk – 15k and about 900m of ascent
The following day we walk the El Somo – not so much “up” but still a great walk of about 13k
After a days semi-rest in Valencia we are off to the coast – Smuggler’s Cove from El Portet and what a great day – warm temps and blue skies
The contasts of colours is amazing – the lavender adds to the spectacle
After the walk we transfer to Moraira beach for a paddle in the sea
The week is almost complete = our final walk is on the Bernia range and we are blessed with another fabulous day
The views are fantastic
The group and our dogs catch our breath after coming through the “Forrat”
Before following the wonderful trails over scree back to our start-point. It has been a great week, thanks to all our guests for making it so much fun.
