Norfolk Broads – 2nd July 2011

After a great week with Gary and Nikki, it’s on to the Norfolk Broads to meet up with the girls

We are staying right on the river at Wroxham

It’s a great house and has it’s own boat so we are looking forward to exploring by day and cooking by night!

We are soon off “messing about on the river”

Everyone taking it in turn to relax and get some rays on the back seat

Except for Kathy who’s glued to the wheel!

We float down the river towards Horning

Passing some fabulous houses along the way

Some traditional set in massive grounds

Some a little more quirky!

Along the way we catch glimpses of all sorts of birds – including these Graylag Geese

And these adorable Mallard chicks trying to keep up with mum!

We also admire some wonderful sail boats

Tacking their way up the river

Some with massive billowing sails

We stop off at Ludham and take a walk into the marshland

It’s glorious countryside

And we are rewarded with a spectacular Marsh Harrier fly-past
